How my journey began

Hello there! Growing up with multiple animals, I’ve always had a deep love of anything furry. However, it wasn’t until I adopted Nyla (pictured above) that I gave serious thought to working with animals.

While working at a doggie daycare, I saw multiple dogs with hip dysplasia, knee injuries, and stiff joints from old age. I would pet them and then start giving them little massages while in the play yard with them. Signal the light bulb effect. I thought I should look around and see if pet massage was something I could do and is in demand. Lo and behold, the answer was ‘yes’ to both.

So, I started saving up and reading about requirements and schools. I knew a little of what I was getting into. Nyla had to have two knee surgeries within the first year of her adoption. I did her physical therapy at home 3 times a day. And I loved it! Massage would be just as much fun and rewarding.

Now, I’m a certified Small Animal Massage Practitioner and am studying to become nationally board certified. Every session is a learning opportunity and it’s so fun and rewarding.
